I have just placed my first order for 25 day old pheasant chicks. They should arrive in about a week. I had planned to use cedar shavings for bedding but it seems that may be a bad idea based on what I have been reading.

Has anyone tried pine straw?

I read where some people had good success with regular wheat straw but others have concerns of mold with the wheat straw. I have easy access to plenty pine straw and it's good and dry.

Thanks in advance for any advice and thanks for the helpful forum.
